Sorting and Grading: Building Trust in Every eDiamond
Our sister company BSR Global deploys a dedicated team of experts directly in-country to meticulously inspect and verify every rough diamond before export. This hands-on approach ensures transparency and quality at every step.
A key part of this process is the detailed examination by a qualified Gemologist, who sorts and grades the stones using time-tested methods suited to the rough diamond trade.
The sorting and grading begins with separating diamonds by size—smaller ones pass through calibrated sieves, while larger stones are weighed precisely on scales. Next, the gemologist classifies each stone by shape, such as the classic octahedral form or irregular macles, to predict how well it might yield polished gems.
Color is assessed under controlled lighting to note any hues from colorless to fancy shades, and clarity is checked under magnification for internal inclusions or surface features that could affect value.
As part of this evaluation, the stones are exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light to observe fluorescence—a natural glow that reveals subtle traits like strain patterns or potential treatments, helping confirm authenticity and refine the grade without invasive testing.
In addition to sorting and grading, the team secures the essential Kimberley Process Certificate (KPC) and obtains export approval from local authorities. This rigorous documentation guarantees that every eDiamond is sourced and exported ethically, giving investors peace of mind in a complex market.

Selecting the Finest Rough Diamonds
We source only the highest-quality rough diamonds from our sister company, BSR Global, to craft our eDiamonds. These are industry-recognized 'Gem-Grade' stones, chosen for their exceptional clarity and potential.
Gem-grade rough diamonds stand out as the top choice for turning raw stones into stunning polished gems ready for fine jewelry. These diamonds are carefully picked for their strong promise of high-quality results after cutting and polishing.
Key Characteristics
Clarity Potential: These diamonds are chosen for having few inclusions—tiny natural flaws—that will not affect the beauty of the finished stone. Typical grades range from VVS1 (Very, Very Slightly Included 1, where flaws are nearly invisible under 10x magnification) and VVS2, to VS1 and VS2 (Very Slightly Included, with minor flaws visible only if you look closely).
Color Range: They feature near-colorless to fully colorless tones, graded from D (colorless) to H (near-colorless). This range boosts their appeal and market value without the extra cost of rare fancy colors.
Size Threshold: For investors, gem-grade rough diamonds usually weigh 5 carats up to 30+ carats. This ensures enough material remains after cutting to create a meaningful polished gem.

When available, our KimberLite eDiamonds also feature sought-after Fancy Colored stones and Flawless gems. These premium selections are offered exclusively through the Auction section of KimberMarket, where verified buyers can compete for some of the world's most coveted diamonds.
